Knowledge & Support
Healing doesn't only happen in the therapy room. These resources — articles, tools, and trusted external links — are here to support you between sessions and beyond.
When anxiety feels overwhelming, this sensory grounding exercise can bring you back to the present moment. Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste.
Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat 4 times. This technique activates your parasympathetic nervous system and can reduce anxiety within minutes.
Set aside 15 minutes each day as your designated "worry time." When anxious thoughts arise outside this window, gently remind yourself to save them for later. This limits anxiety's grip on your day.
When depression makes everything feel pointless, start small. Choose one meaningful activity — a short walk, a phone call, making a meal — and do it regardless of how you feel. Action often precedes motivation, not the other way around.
