Are you considering psychotherapy or booking a session with Inner Harmony but feeling unsure? That's not a problem, we understand. Before booking a session, schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to get to know your therapist and discuss any questions or concerns that you may have.
Our in-person sessions encompass a wide range of therapeutic approaches and techniques, all aimed at helping individuals improve their mental health, develop coping skills, and enhance their overall quality of life. The core of psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. It provides a safe and confidential space for individuals to discuss their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. In-Person sessions are located in Bolton, ON.
Online sessions are held from the comfort of your own home, at a time that is convenient for you through our easy scheduling platform. Online therapy offers increased accessibility to mental health care. It eliminates geographical barriers, making it possible for individuals to connect with therapists regardless of their location. This is particularly beneficial for those who live in rural or remote areas with limited access to in-person therapy, or for those who may feel more comfortable virtually.
Inner Harmony offers phone sessions for individuals who may not have the accessibility to attend in-person sessions, or may not be comfortable beginning with in-person or virtual video sessions. Additionally, there is no problem if you would like to start off with phone sessions and when ready, move up to in-person or online sessions. This is your journey and we want to meet you where you are at.
Psychotherapy is a type of treatment that can help individuals experiencing a wide array of mental health conditions and emotional challenges and has been shown to be effective for personal growth and self-improvement.
Psychotherapy can help not only alleviate symptoms, but also, help identify the psychological root causes of one’s condition so a person can function better and have enhanced emotional well-being and healing.
Psychotherapy is typically goal-oriented. Clients work with their therapists to identify specific issues, set therapeutic goals, and work toward achieving those goals. For example, goals may include reducing symptoms of depression, managing anxiety, improving relationships, or developing better coping strategies.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
It can be a common experience to feel lost and distant from the person you remember, we can work together and find the previous OR a new version of yourself to love.
Trauma refers to an emotional response to a distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope. These events may involve physical harm, the threat of harm, or witnessing traumatic events happening to others. Trauma can be caused by a single event, such as an accident, natural disaster, or violent attack, or it can result from ongoing situations such as abuse, neglect, or prolonged exposure to stressful circumstances.
Trauma can have a significant impact on a person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It can lead to a range of psychological symptoms, including anxiety, depression, flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and difficulty concentrating. Trauma can also affect interpersonal relationships, work performance, and overall quality of life.
It's important to recognize that trauma is subjective, meaning that what may be traumatic for one person may not be traumatic for another. Additionally, individuals may respond to trauma differently based on factors such as past experiences, support systems, and coping mechanisms.
We understand the profound impact that trauma can have on one's life. Through a compassionate approach, we focus on helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma and PTSD, providing a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth.
Psychotherapy can support individuals in improving their self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence that leads to fostering a positive self-image. Let me ask you this, would you speak to a loved one the way you speak to yourself and your body? If not, and if you can recognize that maybe you don't have the best relationship with yourself or your body, we can help.
Low self-esteem can impact every aspect of your life, from your relationships to your career. But, more importantly, we believe that everyone has the potential to improve their self-esteem and live a more fulfilling life. Having low self-esteem and worth does not need to define your life, you are worthy of change. You are worthy of being loved. You are worthy of finding peace within yourself. Self-esteem can lead to self-empowerment, and we are here for that.
Psychotherapy can help individuals understand and manage their anger, teaching healthy expression and conflict resolution. We understand that these challenges can be overwhelming, but you don't have to face them alone.
